Kombucha Class at Dream About Tea in Evanston, IL
Dream About Tea is finally ready to offer this long awaited & anticipated opportunity to share with you their knowledge and experience on how to home brew the mythical & mysterious Kombucha.
In case you never heard about Kombucha, here is a link to a website for some basic helpful information, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kombucha. Also, you may be able to find bottled Kombucha at Whole Foods or Jewel if you want to try it to see if it's something worth brewing at home? If you do enjoy it, and are interested in an adventure, they will show you how you can easily make it at home on your own for a fraction of the cost compared to buying it in stores.
The Kombucha class will be held on Saturday, November 7th, at 11:30am, and the class will run from 60-90 minutes. They will discuss the history of fermentation and the possible origins of Kombucha & it's legend. There will be a step by step demonstration of how to start your own Kombucha, and how to "harvest" it when it's finished. You will have the opportunity to taste the ready-brewed tasty and refreshing Kombucha in the "raw" as well as some of our juice infused recipes! Each participant will be provided with a Kombucha S.C.O.B.Y. & starter tea, and a detailed handout which will outline the instructional demonstration, list necessary supplies, and provide helpful resources & links to all the info you need to successfully begin you own Kombucha adventure!
A fee of $50.00 will be charged per person
